Speedheat under carpet heating is the perfect solution for bedrooms or living areas. Carpeted areas are excellent conductors of heat; therefore, this option makes heating a carpeted room efficient and cost-effective. Individually controlled heating in the bedrooms also allows you the freedom to heat the rooms that you are using, rather than heating the whole house. With no dust, fumes, or noise, this solution is fast becoming a very popular one. Additionally, Speedheat also offers Under Tile Heating, providing versatile options for all your heating needs.

Speedheat carpet heaters are sandwiched between a High-Quality Metalized PET Film Carrier and a Woven PP Layer. The bottom layer is specially designed for even heat distribution and downward heat flow reduction. The top layer is specially designed to promote radiant heat, resulting in your carpets being heated evenly and effectively without overheating.

Speedheat carpet heaters are installed on top of the underlay and directly underneath the floor finish, making them perfect for new floor applications or the retrofitting of under existing carpet.

Underfloor Heating Under Carpeted Floors

Underfloor Heating is one of the safest and most economical ways to heat your home. It could be quickly and easily installed under existing or new carpets. The under-carpet heaters are specially designed for even heat distribution to avoid overheating and hot spots. The low wattage heaters are an economical way of heating your room effectively.

The under-carpet heaters are sandwiched between a high quality PET reinforced aluminium foil carrier. The foil carrier ensures even heat distribution and downward heat flow reduction. The top layer is specially designed to support radiant heat, resulting in your carpets being heated evenly and effectively. The under carpet heating element is placed on top of the underfelt or foam underlay, just underneath the carpet. The under felt or foam underlay acts as an insulator, reducing downward heat loss, increasing the efficiency of the heating system.

Economical Heating

Speedheat underfloor heating systems are installed directly underneath the floor finish, this creates a much quicker response time with reduced energy consumption. Response time is from 30 – 45 minutes, depending on the floor finish and the insulation installed.

Benefits

Underfloor heating could act as the main source of heating; there is absolutely no need for any other forms of heating in the room. Depending on the room, we recommend covering at least 70-85% of the room, making sure there is sufficient heat distribution to heat the area. Under carpet heating provides a very gentle heat, ideal for homes with small children. Plus, with no bulky radiators, it maintains the aesthetic appeal of your rooms. Electric underfloor heating is also a great choice for those with allergies, as it can prevent the moisture buildup and the circulation of dust mites. Each room could be controlled separately with thermostats, whether installed in the room or discreetly hidden. Even walk-in robes can benefit from heating, with a thin strip placed to prevent cold spots.

FAQ

DO I NEED TO BE INSTALLING NEW CARPETS TO PUT UNDERFLOOR HEATING IN?

No. Our carpet heaters can easily be retrofitted underneath existing carpeted floors. The process involves pulling back the original carpet, installing the heating system, and then re-installing the carpet with the heater situated between the carpet underlay and the carpet itself.

IS HEATING UNDERNEATH THE CARPET SAFE?

Yes. Speedheat carpet heaters are sandwiched between a high quality metalized PET film carrier and a woven PP layer. The bottom layer is specially designed for even heat distribution and downward heat flow reduction. The top layer is specially designed to promote radiation, resulting in your carpets being heated evenly and effectively without overheating or hot spots. Our heaters also have to be connected to an RCD protected circuit and therefore will short out before catching fire.

CAN YOU FEEL THE HEATING UNDERNEATH THE CARPET?

The only thing you will feel is a toasty and warm floor. Our carpet heaters are only 1.5mm thick and therefore can not be felt underneath the carpet.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO HEAT UP MY ROOM?

We usually say to allow up to an hour to get to the desired temperature but having said that, you will start to feel the warmth to the touch about 10-15minutes after the heating switches on. In most cases, within 20-40minutes, your room should already be at a very comfortable temperature. Carpet thickness and roomy type will also affect the heat up time.

DO I LEAVE THE HEATING ON ALL THE TIME OR CAN I PROGRAM IT?

Speedheat Underfloor heating systems are connected to programmable thermostats. Allowing you to ‘set and forget’. You can program the heating to switch on and off throughout the day and therefore only being on when you need it rather than all the time.

CAN I INSTALL THE HEATING MYSELF?

Installing heated tiles systems requires a qualified electrician to ensure it adheres to Australian law and is setup safely. We have a number of qualified electricians on hand who are experts in underfloor carpet heating installations.

CAN I GET MY CARPETS STEAM CLEANED?

Yes. It is completely safe to get your carpets steam cleaned. However, we DO NOT recommend using your underfloor heating to dry the carpets after. You should wait until the floor dry naturally before using.
