Laminate flooring is a durable and affordable alternative to timber floors for Australian homes. It pairs well with Speedheat’s underfloor heating to keep the floors warm and at a consistent temperature when needed. This prevents moisture buildup in the laminate planks and mitigates the risk of the planks swelling, warping, or growing mildew.

For laminate flooring, we offer a tailored situation using a programmable Thermostat with floor temperature limitation, eliminating the risk of floor damage and creating comfort through innovation. This floor surface allows for a maximum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius.

With laminate flooring, a self-leveler is needed over the heating elements to distribute the heat evenly and protect the heaters during third-party flooring installation. It is always recommended to have a conversation with your flooring manufacturer about its suitability for underfloor heating. Our heating consultants will advise you of the best heating solutions and floor build-up to suit your needs.

FAQ

ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS PUTTING HEATING UNDERNEATH LAMINATE OR VINYL

We advise that you do not exceed a floor temperature of about 27degrees. This will ensure that you have no complications with damage to your flooring.

CAN LAMINATE OR VINYL FLOORING BE INSTALLED DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE UNDERFLOOR HEATING?

We strongly recommend that a thin self levelling screed of 5-8MM is laid over our heating prior to the laminate being installed. This will create a nice smooth surface and will prevent the lines of the cable showing through the floors after years of wear and tear.

CAN I INSTALL THE HEATING MYSELF?

Installing heated tiles systems requires a qualified electrician to ensure it adheres to Australian law and is setup safely. We have a number of qualified electricians on hand who are experts in underfloor carpet heating installations.

CAN SPEEDHEAT GO ON TOP OF AN EXISTING FLOOR?

Yes. Speedheat can be installed on to an existing floor when you change your floor finish. Speedheat only requires an additional build-up height of +/- 2 mm, which is in almost all cases available.

DO I HAVE TO HEAT THE WHOLE HOUSE OR CAN I JUST DO SOME AREAS?

Speedheat can be installed in as many or as little rooms as you like. Each room Is individually controlled and therefore you have the freedom to pick and choose where you want it.

IS THERE ANY MAINTENANCE?

No maintenance is required.
